Which truck licence is your next step?
Your current licence, driving experience and work goals all matter. Start with the class that fits your eligibility and intended vehicle.
HR Licence
For eligible drivers progressing to rigid vehicles with three or more axles, including many buses and heavy rigid trucks.
HC Licence
For eligible drivers moving to prime mover–semi-trailer combinations and rigid vehicles towing a heavy trailer.
MC Licence
For eligible experienced heavy vehicle drivers progressing to B-doubles, road trains and other multi-combination vehicles.

Training needs vary. A responsible provider should explain what is included, what happens if you are not assessment-ready, and how additional training is charged.
TAFE and funded training may be worth exploring.

What should you know before booking?
Can everyone get an HR licence in one day?
No provider should guarantee the same training outcome for every learner. Eligibility, experience, vehicle familiarity, learning pace and assessment readiness all affect the time required.
How many training hours will I need?
There is no single answer for every learner. Ask how the provider evaluates your starting skill, what the initial booking includes and the price of any additional training.
Does WA Truck Training conduct the training or assessment?
No. WA Truck Training provides information and referral assistance. Training and assessment are delivered by the training provider or registered training organisation you choose.
Do you receive a referral fee?
We may receive a referral fee if you book with a provider introduced through us. This should not increase the importance of checking the provider, package inclusions and suitability for yourself.
